What We Do at the
Richland County Parks

The Richland County Park District is responsible for restoring and maintaining the ecological integrity of RCPD owned grassland, prairie, wetland and woodland habitats.  We provide the following services to the community:

• Provide ample recreational opportunities via the Richland B&O Bike Trail, Gorman Nature Center, and other RCPD owned park land

• Provide a variety of free educational programming that includes but is not limited to pre-school children, k-12 aged children, post-secondary, professional development for educators, home schoolers, and Boy & Girl Scouts

• Provide free weekly, monthly, yearly, and seasonal public programming covering a wide variety of Ohio & Richland County Natural History related topics

• Festivals highlighting various Ohio & Richland County Natural History Topics such as our Reptile & Amphibian Festival, Rock & Fossil Day Festival, & Pollinator Festival

• Workshops on a variety of Ohio Natural History related topics

• Community outreach where we collaborate with various local agencies, business's, and schools to raise awareness and promote RCPD services
